Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually happening.
